I’m Tawny, author of Dry Humping: A Guide to Dating, Relating, and Hooking Up Without the Booze, co-author of The Sobriety Deck, co-host of the Recovery Rocks podcast, and co-founder of the non-alc spirit, (parentheses). I also teach classes about publishing and DIY PR. And yes, I’m an exhausted Capricorn.

🛍️ Minus Moonshine’s Second Location
Minus Moonshine, a queer-owned NA bottleshop, just opened a second location in Greenpoint!
Don’t live in NYC? Consider placing your NA drink orders through their website.
Fun Fact: Buying my NA spirit from Minus Moonshine helps two indie NA brands!
🍹New NA Bar in Brooklyn
Hubby and I recently had a great time at Mockingbird, a new booze-free bar in Park Slope, Brooklyn. They have light bites and a plethora of NA wine, beer, and mixed drinks to sip on. I had the Wild Earth Sour with Feragaia, persimmon, lemon, rooibos, egg white, aji amarilloi, topped with an aromatic citrus bubble. Delish!
🐇Leigh Stein Cover Reveal
is one of my favorite writers, thinkers, and teachers. Leigh’s classes and coaching helped shape my book, and I’ll absolutely work with her again on my next book idea. Her Substack, , is a killer resource for all things publishing. IYSTIMFY is a mix of tarot, being extremely online, her signature, brilliant satire.🍰 Carl Radke Cover Reveal
Speaking of cover reveals, Carl Radke from Bravo’s Summer House shared the cover of his forthcoming memoir this week. He’s also opening a non-alc bar in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, called Soft Bar. When I quit drinking in 2015, booze-free bars were far from being a thing. Now they’re popping up all over the globe (shout out to
’s global map) Can’t wait to celebrate Carl’s book launch and bar opening later this year!🎤 I Signed With a Speaking Agent
Over the years, I've given keynotes, spoken on countless panels and podcasts, and even shared my research about sobriety and relationships in college anthropology courses. Now, I'm thrilled to be part of a speaking collective that amplifies diverse, queer voices—especially as we're being silenced all across the country. 🌈
